Need help with my Communications question – I’m studying for my class.

Guidelines:You will create a print/2D advertising campaign for a client of your choice.To begin with, you will develop a creative brief.Using original copy and artwork, develop four print ads as part of a unifiedcampaign that follows your creative brief.You may use whatever hardware (e.g., cameras) and software you like. Each ad should be 8.5” x 11”. Use a vertical (portrait) layout, not a horizontal (landscape) layout. Use the CMYK color model and a resolution of 300 ppi. Save all your final files, including the creative brief, as PDFs. Here are some tips to manage your file sizes: edit your photos to the correct size and resolution, and then save copies of them in “.psd” format but with the layers flattened. Then import those images into whatever software you are using for your ad layouts. Filters and effects significantly increase your file sizes. Use them if you have a good reason. But just adding them in hopes it will make your ads look stylish seldom helps. If your four PDFs combined exceed 100 megabytes, save copies of your original ads. Then change your resolutions to 200 ppiCOMM 353, Print/2D Advertising Campaign
This assignment is worth 10% of your final course grade. It is due on March 2. You
can do this assignment individually or you may team up with one other classmate
(both teammates will receive the same grade/evaluation).
The learning goals for this assignment are:
• to develop a creative brief and then follow it;
• to gain practice developing a creative concept for a campaign;
• to gain practice writing advertising copy elements such as headlines, tag
lines, and body copy that are consistent with the creative strategy;
• to gain practice creating and editing images of suitable quality for a print
advertising campaign;
• to begin to learn to coordinate and manage design elements such as
typography, color, line, value, mass, texture, space and movement in visually
attractive and strategically consistent ways.
• to gain practice developing advertising layouts for pre-press production.
Guidelines:
You will create a print/2D advertising campaign for a client of your choice.
To begin with, you will develop a creative brief.
Using original copy and artwork, develop four print ads as part of a unified
campaign that follows your creative brief.
You may use whatever hardware (e.g., cameras) and software you like. Each
ad should be 8.5” x 11”. Use a vertical (portrait) layout, not a horizontal (landscape)
layout. Use the CMYK color model and a resolution of 300 ppi. Save all your final
files, including the creative brief, as PDFs. Here are some tips to manage your file
sizes: edit your photos to the correct size and resolution, and then save copies of
them in “.psd” format but with the layers flattened. Then import those images into
whatever software you are using for your ad layouts. Filters and effects significantly
increase your file sizes. Use them if you have a good reason. But just adding them in
hopes it will make your ads look stylish seldom helps. If your four PDFs combined
exceed 100 megabytes, save copies of your original ads. Then change your
resolutions to 200 ppi.
To do well on this assignment (i.e., get any score above a C), you must do the
following:
1. Develop a clever and compelling creative concept that holds the campaign
together. (Your creative concept should be readily apparent to anyone
and you should be able to describe it in seven words or less without using
any marketing or strategy jargon).
2. Develop your own effective visuals (photos or illustrations) that display
well and help communicate your creative concept. The only images you
can use that you don’t create yourself are logos and in some cases, shots
of the product itself.
3. Create a layout style for the campaign that effectively applies principles of
good design.
4. Write creative persuasive ad copy (e.g., headlines, themelines, copy
blocks) and write a good creative brief. (Both your brief and your ads
should be free of any spelling and grammar errors).
