During the course of the semester, you will be required to write three research article
critiques. This assignment is intended to help you synthesize a cognitive development
topic and communicate the main points effectively. You are writing for the general

The research articles you select should be peer-reviewed journals or empirical studies that
are either qualitative or quantitative. Studies should be current and within the last 5-7
years. Please be sure to properly cite references (APA format) throughout your paper.
There is no set number of pages for this assignment because the number of pages will
depend on how long your research article is. However, your paper should be no less then
3 pages (not including the title and reference pages), double-spaced with 12pt. font.
Use an interesting title that includes something alluring, followed by the key idea of the

purpose. This section is critical to the critique since most readers will not be
