For this week’s discussion post,Please choose three of the guiding questions from this week, and do your best to respond to them. You should then choose a term that you found interesting OR that you feel you still don’t understand. Do your best to define the term, using quotations from the reading but primarily through your own paraphrasing. You should then generate your own example of the term or concept and explain it.End the post by posing a question to your peers.Guiding Questions Week 6: LugonesGuiding Questions Week 6: LugonesLooking back to your notes from last week for assistance, how does Quijano say race developed? How does he say it functions as a social category of power structure? How does Quijano consider gender? (hint: a quick use of ctrl+f will help you find this easily)What parts of Quijano’s argument does Lugones say are correct? Where does she diverge from his understanding of race and gender? How does she say gender is racialized and colonial? How does heterosexuality connect to this? Be specific. The initial post should be at least 400 words. Guidelines for replying to peer posts: This is less structured. You can either respond to a peer’s question, or you can try to help them with the question they chose from the Quijano reading. Pleas respond to this part : Looking back to your notes from last week for assistance, how does Quijano say race developed? How does he say it functions as a social category of power structure? How does Quijano consider Gender?Quijano’s idea on how race was being developed was a basic concept of dominance over on other race through the history of each other. It all had to do with how much power a race had having to consider where you were located represented the power you where given over other races. Quijano says race is just a social category of power over another nothing else. Quijano considers gender basicly the same having heterosexual be the bases of what a white man would be in races. all of these are just social constructs developed to create how much power people had not by the strength or how fast they where but by where they where born and lived considered that power. What parts of Quijano’s argument does Lugones say are correct? where does she diverge from his understanding of race and gender? how does she say gender is racialized and colonial? how does heterosexuality connect to this? To start Lugones diverge from Quijano’s concept of race towards more in dept for gender. Both know that this is just a social construct for how much power one person has over the next. Lugones even states how Quijano understands the social construct, ” Quijano understands that all power is structured in relations of domination, exploition, and conflict as social actors fight over the control of “the four basic areas of human existence : sex, labor, collective authority and subjectivity/intersubjectivity” this is just exposing the narrow minded of gender same as race which both lead towards the social ladder through power. Heterosexuality connects to all of this by being the white man of race being the only “true” option that was created to show power. heterosexual is the white man of race having the white man always control all the power through other races. The term i used was ” Intersubjectivity” whcih came from this sentence ” Quijano understands that all power is structured in relations of domination, exploition, and conflict as social actors fight over the control of “the four basic areas of human existence : sex, labor, collective authority and subjectivity/intersubjectivity” My understanding of Intersubjectivity is just the point of two subjects, having to be interchangeable from the though of the two ideals. To explain from the use of this sentence is having the control of changing your ideals, having to subjectively change between the ideals of sex, labor, and collective authority. My question to my peers: Do you think if the social construct of race and gender would not determine the dominance of one another’s power possibly create more peace between us and why? First one. Disscussion. Second one: respond to the discussion for my class mate and answer his qeustion.every one in different file. PDF.Heterosexuality and the

In order to more thoroughly understand
this piece, you’ll want to give your notes

once-over! Lugones is responding to
Quijano’s claims and building upon
them, and I’d like you to think of that as
an example of one form criticism might
take.

Be looking for things you’d like to expand upon, disagree with, or that you
feel an author doesn’t pay sufficient attention to. Please keep in mind that
while you’re free to hold whatever personal opinions you’d like, we are
taking as a starting assumption that colonialism is an ongoing structure,
racism/sexism/homophobia/transphobia/ableism are real and white people
do not experience racism.
