Instructions
Design an experiment (option 1)
Make sure the experiment can be performed at home
The experiment should illustrate a food science principle
If you have limited resources to conduct the experiment, make an informational video (option 2)
The topic should be relevant to food science
Controversial topics are welcome (e.g., you can make a video to counter a misinformation)
Discuss the selected topic with the instructor
The topic should be approved by the instructor first
Submit your topic and rationale by February 10
Discuss the topic with the instructor as needed through email or during the office hour
You can also seek help from the teaching assistant
Finalize the topic by February 11
Record the experiment (option 1) or make an informational video (option 2)
The video should be between 5-10 min
Editing of the video is optional but recommended
Results of the experiment should be explained in the video (option 1)
Scientific literature should be used to support your argument (option 2)
Make sure your interpretation is backed up by scientific literature
Upload your video to YouTube and submit the video link by February 19
Write a summary of your work which will include the following:
How did you come up with the idea
How did you design the experiments that can be performed at home (option 1)
The scientific literature you found to support your argument (option 2)
What have you learned during the process
